All about the Inti Raymi and Inca Trail 6 days 🇵🇪.

A cultural tour which the main attraction are the Inti Raymi and Inca Trail to Machu Picchu throughout the month of June, from 22nd to the 27th of exploration, hikes, traditional rituals and the steps of the Inca Trek.

This Inti Raymi and Inca Trail (6 days) begin when our representative will wait for you to transfer to your accommodation.

The next day is about exploring the Sacred Valley, Chincheros, Pisac, Ollantaytambo and the ruins of each one.

June 24th is a magical day because we can see the celebration of the Sun (Inti), the Inti Raymi Ceremony begins in the morning at the front of the Sun Temple in Qoriqancha.

So amazing the reunification of all the “Suyos” (Qollasuyu, Kuntisuyu, Antisuyu y Chinchaysuyu) again, at the final is make a ceremonial reading for know the destiny of the next year.

For the last session is necessary to go to the archeological and wonder site from Sacsayhuaman while cherishing the Inca ruins.

The rest of the days is about the Trail to Machu Picchu which involves the pass among the Inca steps, the beautiful landscapes, many panoramic views from mountains and lakes, varied weather especially the cloud forest and more wonderful and archaeological sites to visit with museums and monuments. All latest until arriving at Machu Picchu with a guided tour. In the afternoon return to Cusco by train after an amazing expedition on the road.

  1. Day 1 Cusco

    From the airport our representative of the agency will transport you to your accommodation. This day doesn’t have some hikes or visits planned but you can walk around the town. Is recommended the museums, galleries, restaurants and house of crafts.

    A good day to acclimatize to the climate because the last days are involve the Inca Trail

  2. Day 2 Sacred Valley of the Incas

    The visit to Sacred Valley that abarks many cultural and archaeological sites especially the food agriculturally, it beautiful valley was made by the Urubamba River passing through Ollantaytambo until the sanctuary from Machu Picchu.

    We can observe all the ruins and take pictures like reminds and explore the area, tourists explore the agricultural terracing carved frequently.

    Then we continue to Ollantaytambo also an amazing and very important site to visit with panoramic views of the landscapes. Interact with people of the area and observe interesting habits with the land.

    Already in the afternoon we have to return to Cusco, be ready because the next day is coming with a nice ritual.

  3. Day 3 Inti Raymi Festival

    Being a ceremony organized for the Sun, celebrated in wonderful escenes among the ruins.

     
    • Qorikancha (Golden Temple), it was the principal temple dedicated to the Sun in the Incan era.
    • Plaza de Armas (called by the Incas ”Auqaypata”, the Warrior Square), which was a huge square during the Inca times where this ceremony was held on a ceremonial platform (“ushnu” in Quechua). From there, the Inca was carried on a golden throne leading a procession through the ancient city of Cusco up to Sacsaywaman in the hills above city.
    • Saqsaywaman (”saqsay” and ”waman” in Quechua mean ”satiate hawk”), which is an impressive archaeological centre situated at 3,555 m.a.s.l., just a kilometre far away from the Inca neighbourhood of Qolqanpata.

     Program of the Sacsaywaman´s scene:

    • Ceremonial arrival
    • Announcement of the 4 “Suyus” (or the four cardinal points): Qollasuyu, Kuntisuyu, Antisuyu and Chinchaysuyu
    • Chicha Ritual
    • Sacred Fire Ritual
    • Lama (Andean cameloid) sacrifice and a sign reading (But no worries, there is not any lama killed in fact nowadays!
    • Sankhu (sacred bread) Reading
    • Q’ochurikuy (burst of popular exaltation)
  4. Day 4 Cusco - Inca Trail - Aguas Calientes

    Early in the morning you’ll be transported to Ollantaytambo’s railway station on a driving of 2hours. Continue by train until Km104 where exists a checkpoint to start the Inca Trail. Begins the trekking for 3hours approximately to reach Chachabamba, an important archaeological site where our lunch will waiting us.

    Now we have to go until Wiñayhuayna, before do latest we’ll see landscapes and varied vegetation especially the cloud forest, also a waterfall to take pictures and a rest.

    Arriving to the Sun Gate with a panoramic view from the citalde, being too late for visit the mountain we’ll descend to Aguas Calientes which is located the accommodation and be ready because tomorrow will be ”the day”.

  5. Day 5 Hiking to Machu Picchu
    Wake up early and take a good breakfast to enjoy the day, during a hike of about 2 hours we arrive to the citadel of Machu Picchu with a guided tour we can explore the citadel and purchase some reminds. Then, is an alternative climb the Huayna Picchu mountain because from there you can take the best pictures and cherish the amazing landscapes, really amazing the panoramic views.

    Exploring all Machu Picchu on our own and pass among the Inca ruins while take the pictures of each one.

    Finally return to Cusco passing by Ollantaytambo to take a van after a fantastic excursion.

  6. Day 6 Departure Day

    After your breakfast you’ll be transported to the aiport being the end of our tour.

Machu Picchu is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. It was built during the rise of the Inca Empire, and it’s considered the most visually striking prehispanic structure of the continent. Currently, this ancient sanctuary receives over 1.5 million visitors per year, making it the most in-demand travel destination in South America

It is located in the heart of the Peruvian cloud forest within the region of Cusco. The famous Inca Citadel is located on top of a mountain over 2,400 meters above sea level.

Those are the surrounding mountains to the Inca Citadel. Huayna Picchu is located at 2,720 meters above sea level and offers an outstanding view to the archaeological site as well as several Inca ruins along the trail.

The Machu Picchu Mountain is located at 3,082 meters above sea level, and serves as another viewpoint to the famous historical sanctuary. However, the trek to its summit is significantly less challenging than the Huayna Picchu mountain

No, the Inca citadel’s circuit isn’t challenging at all. It is not necessary to have a high fitness level to explore the sanctuary.

You have to be crazy about adventure tours to build a theme that displays the tours so elegantly that a person browsing the tours on site literally falls in love with place even before booking the tour.
